Compass Films is an award-winning production company, and co-owner of Animation Studio Iceland, a full-service 2D studio based in Reykjavik, Iceland. Compass Films produces films, series, and shorts for an international audience, with their latest productions premiering in Un Certain Regard in Cannes and at the Venice International Film Festival 2024.

Compass Films are driven by great stories and fantastic storytellers, with a strong passion for developing new IPs as well as big supporters of international co-productions.

Our animated productions are produced with a variety of animation techniques including 2D Digital, hand-drawn, cut-out, stop motion, and mixed media. Most recently producing the long-form animated children’s series Ormhildur the Brave and the short film Hold it Together, with both productions launching in 2026.
